How the MyTask Platform Works

MyTask is an intermediary platform between the Buyer (Client) and the Freelancer, ensuring safety and security for both parties.

Below, we review examples of all possible interactions between a Buyer and a Freelancer on MyTask.

Gigs (Announcements)

  • After registering on the platform, a Freelancer posts a listing detailing their services.

  • A potential Client (Buyer) views the listing that is suitable for them.

It is worth noting that the Client can preview the freelancer's portfolio, their latest works, and ratings to form a general impression of the freelancer.

  • After viewing a favorable listing, the Client can also contact the Freelancer via the platform's built-in chat to discuss all necessary details before purchasing the product.

Our Recommendation: We strongly recommend discussing and clarifying details with the freelancer before purchasing any specific service. When agreeing on details, it's recommended to use the platform's internal chat so that, in the event of future issues, the administration can accurately review what the freelancer and client agreed upon.

  • After agreeing on the details, the Client buys the service and pays the fee in advance.

  • Once the Client purchases the service, MyTask blocks the funds (Escrow), and the Freelancer is notified that the client has paid and can begin working on the order.

  • When the Freelancer completes the order, they must send the work to the Client.

  • Upon receiving the order, the Client reviews it, evaluates it, and may request changes if necessary. (The number of revisions depends on the agreed-upon details). If the order is perfect, the Client grants it a Completed status.

  • As soon as the Client accepts the order, the funds are automatically transferred to the Freelancer's account.

Projects

It is also possible to post "Projects" on the platform. As a future Client, you post a project, specifying the necessary details like the Description (what specific work needs to be done) and your Budget (minimum and maximum amount).

After posting the project, the Client waits to receive proposals from freelancers.

Each Freelancer is only allowed to send 1 proposal (the proposal can be edited until the Client approves a freelancer for the project).

A Freelancer's sent proposal includes:

  • Work completion Deadlines.

  • A Description of why they deserve to be approved for this project.

  • The Price (must be within the project's minimum and maximum value).

When the Client receives the offers, they will decide which proposal is the most acceptable and approve the author of that proposal to work on the project.

The specific Freelancer approved by the Client has 48 hours to agree to participate in the project.

Note: The Freelancer has the right to refuse to participate in the project; in this case, the Client must approve another freelancer.

If the Freelancer agrees to participate in the project, the Client pays the project fee in advance, which MyTask holds as blocked funds (Escrow).

After the fee is paid, the Freelancer starts working on the project.

Upon delivery of the project work, the Client confirms its acceptance, and the funds are transferred to the Freelancer's account.

Personal Offer (Coming Soon)

A Client can send a Personal Offer to a Freelancer, specifying the necessary work details, deadlines, and price.

The Freelancer can reject a personally received offer.

If the Freelancer agrees to the personal offer, they are obligated to deliver the work to the Client within the agreed-upon deadline.

As soon as the Freelancer agrees to the personal offer, the Client pays the offer price in advance, which MyTask holds as blocked funds.

After the work is delivered by the Freelancer, once the Client confirms acceptance, the funds will be unblocked and transferred to the Freelancer's account.

Disagreements Between the Client and the Freelancer

1. Freelancer Fails to Deliver Work within the Agreed Deadline

  • The Client has the right to request a refund.

  • If the Freelancer does not agree to a refund, the MyTask Administration will get involved.

  • Upon verification of the details and confirmation of the fact mentioned above, the funds will be returned to the Client.

  • The Freelancer will receive negative reputation. Repeat offenses may lead to profile cancellation.

2. Client is Dissatisfied with the Delivered Work

  • The Client requests a refund.

  • If the Freelancer agrees to the refund, the problem is solved.

  • However, if the Freelancer does not agree to a refund, the Client has the right to initiate a Dispute.

  • In this case, the MyTask Administration gets involved, and the agreed-upon details and the submitted work will be evaluated.

  • If the work matches the agreed-upon details, the funds will be unblocked and transferred to the Freelancer.

  • If the work does not match the agreed-upon details, the funds will be returned to the Client.

3. Client Fails to Unblock Payment After Work is Delivered

  • The Freelancer has the right to contact the administration and request the unblocking of funds.

  • Since the Client has not taken any action, such as requesting a refund or changes, the Administration reserves the right, after the review period for the submitted work has passed, to automatically unblock the Freelancer's payment and transfer the funds to the Freelancer.
